Usual Practice with Sempai (Suzaku then Open)

Ayumu walked up to the training fields with her bag over her shoulder and her black cat following her as per usual. As she set her bag down and sat by it, Shou would go off and scurry up into the trees to do his own training of catching and playing with bugs he found. Ayumu would wait around for her teacher and look around, for once she had come early this time in the hopes of impressing her teacher.

Suzaku got up suddenly from his desk with a triumphant gleam in his eyes. "Hah!" His desk was now clear of all paperwork, now that he had completed all of it, and he put the last of their remnants into a neat stack for delivery, sending it in a parcel via carrying hawk. He loved the sight of a clean desk. I'd sure love to soak in the moment, but...

He pulled out his phone, unlocking it and looking at the time on it. "It's that time." He locked up the office, and then opened a window, disappearing from sight in a blur. He reappeared a few moments later behind Ayumu.

"Well, well, well..." he said, showing off his ever-committed flair for the dramatic. "Early? Sensei's impressed," he teased. "I didn't know you were so eager for training all of a sudden."

Ayumu turned around and gave a cute little pout at his mean words "I've always been eager for training Suzaku-Sensei but I just...time goes a whole lot faster over here okay? I'm not use to the birds still chirping an hour later, I get lost in the peacefulness of it all" she said as her pout turned into a smile "so what's on the agenda for today?" she asked curiously. Meanwhile Shou was cleaning himself up in a tree nearby.

He chuckled gently. "Well, at least you have kind of a good reason for being late all the time," he teased slightly, though wasn't too serious about it. He straightened up, however, when she asked how exactly they were going to train today.

"Right. Before we train today, I need to remind you that the Chunin Exams are coming up soon. As we speak birds are flying messages to the other nations. I've invited each village to send their Genin on over to us for their respective Exams. And you are my star pupil." He grinned gently. "So...it depends on how you want to train."

Ayumu nodded in understanding as she smiled a little and blushed a slight shade of blue when he said she was his star pupil. "Well I should prepare for the exams then, are you allowed to say what kind of danger's I'll face? So I can prepare for them?" she asked curiously.

He smiled a little. She didn't seem afraid, and he was proud of that in her. "No, I'm not. I don't even have a clue what we're doing yet. There's so many test I can give all the Genin, but for now I'm just getting it together."

"But some of the tests include even written exams with underlying intentions, or treks through the Forest of Death...I'm making sure it's not actually that fatal, though."

Ayumu nodded "okay, so revising my basic ninja skills of stealth and misguidance might help with the exam, then revising self-defence actions might help in the Forest of Death, as well as basic survival techniques" she said before hurrying to her bag and taking out a notepad and pen, writing a little to do list for herself, she seemed very organised and determined to impress her teacher at this point.

He blinked, chuckling again, and raising up his hands in a flat position to indicate she should stop. "Ayumu, I didn't say those were the tests. Like I said, I only know they've been used in the past. Hell tournaments have even been used to advance Genin. I do particularly like that one, though."

Ayumu nodded and would scratch her head before looking up to him "well I'm not sure which areas I should focus on then, I want to be 100% ready for them" she said smiling at him "sorry, I guess I'm kinda just worried whether I'll pass or not, I want to make you proud sensei" she said softly.

He looked at her in a bit of fondness. She was the best Genin he had ever taught. He really did hope she'd be a great ninja someday.

"Well, the only way I know I can expect to see in the Exams is fighting. So perhaps we should train together...refine your fighting skills. If you can put me in trouble a few times I'm sure you'll be able to make the other Genin give in easily."

Ayumu smiled at him and nodded "alright then! Let's start off easy, since I know you can easily dominate me" she said with a chuckle as she readied her kunai and got into a fighting stance.

He smirked a little and nodded as she got out her kunai. However his hands remained in his pockets, not going for any weapon. "I'll be as lax as I can, Ayumu...but remember. I want you to press me. You need to give me everything you got, and come at me with the intent to kill me. I promise you I can handle it."

Ayumu nodded and took a breath "I trust you sensei, truly" she said before she began dancing around him with vanishing and appearing again before suddenly striking him with a kunai to the chest.

His eyes followed her all around him as she tried to distract him and strike from an inconvenient angle. He snapped his wrist out, grabbing her hand holding the kunai by the wrist as he turned to face her. He didn't have his Sharingan in view. He pulled her forward, staying in the same, solid, fluid motion as he tried to pull her toward him and off balance, before delivering a swift kick to her stomach. Maybe she could use her free hand...but Suzaku was ready.

Ayumu winced a little as she felt the kick to the stomach but used it to gain an advantage. She would use her free hand as a spring to lift herself over him and try to spin him over with her, while doing that she would also grab his arm holding onto her wrist with her free hand, it was quite an awkward and tricky thing to do with her weight versus his along both their arms. If she failed she would likely just fall flat on her butt.

He watched her curiously. What an interesting maneuver...but it was too complex. He managed to be pulled some by her, but ultimately balanced out and just used the momentum to help smash her into the ground, letting go.

"Too flashy. Unnecessary movement leaves room for your opponent if you don't use it right. What you should have done was freeze me." He watched her with a serious look.

Ayumu nodded and would look around, an empty training field, so no one would see her ice jutsu. She stood up and brushed herself off before suddenly doing her ice spike jutsu, her hands getting enveloped in blue, slightly opaque, large, ice spikes which she thrust forwards towards Suzaku.

Suzaku blinked when she formed her ice spikes and sent them flying at him. He jumped back, allowing himself to become parallel with the ground as he twisted, maneuvering around the dangerous shards as he landed with a hand on the ground, his back facing the earth as he looked up at her. That was a close one...

Ayumu blinked and smiled at him "I did good that time?" she asked him softly as she would relax her arms.

Suzaku looked at her with slight disappointment. "You drop your guard because your opponent is floored?" He tucked in his legs, and then shoved off with his hand as he kicked them out, launching himself towards her. He threw some shuriken at her to keep her distracted as he came in with a light kick from his left foot. However this was light for a reason, nand even if she caught the kick, he would whirl around with his left foot for a kick to her shoulder. "Surely I taught you better..."

Ayumu went wide eyed and quickly melted her ice spikes and switched to her ice chrysalis jutsu, her body quickly being surrounded in 7 inch thick ice, the kunais would get lodged into the ice a little, any attacks would just get blocked by the ice.

He smirked a little as he kicked the shield of ice, it cracking under the pressure of his foot, but still holding. "That's more like it..." He set his foot down, watching her. "But this only keeps the problem at bay. Now what do you do?" He could try and melt the ice...but he was trying to stay Genin level for her.

Ayumu would stare at him through the ice before suddenly melting it and using her ice shard jutsu, firing multiple ice shards at him before vanishing and reappearing behind him, while he had to deal with multiple kunai shaped shards she would attempt to put an arm around his neck and held a kunai to his chest.

Suzaku tensed as she melted the ice, and dropped to all fours, letting the spikes fly overhead. However he looked behind him to see Ayumu trying to attack him from behind. He swept her legs out from under her to drop her and make her avoid the spikes, and then pinned her arms and legs down, his elbow on her throat.

"You put yourself in the way of your own attack. All your enemy would have to do is move and you'd be dead."

Ayumu blinked and stared at him "I'm sorry sensei, I don't know what's wrong with me today, everything seems...off" she said with a little sigh, she then realised the position that she was in and would blush a slight shade of blue.
