Clouds and Leaves (OPEN)

It was a rather rowdy day in the market districts of the village. Stalls propped up with merchants dishing out sales. A yawn escaped from a man's mouth, but was suppressed by the combined background noise that was coming from the vocals of some hundred people. Kyo did not mind.

He was walking on the streets, completely careless and free. He stopped at a stall that seemed to be selling dango. "Doesn't that look tasty?" he said to himself. Just then, a finger was raised at him. "You there! Go away!" Kyo realized that it was the seller who was talking to him. "You've been standing there all this time and you haven't noticed? Your sword is scaring away my customers!"

"Ehhh?" Kyo let out as he looked behind him. For some reason there was an open radius of at least two meters between him and everyone else, who quickly looked away and went about their business. He scoffed.

"And anyway, do you even have money on you?"

After fishing into his pockets, Kyo had this snide smile on his face. "All empty!"

"Away with you!"

Kyo's demon-like eyes seemed to have glowed, paralyzing the poor civilian right on the spot. "Without any buyers, you might as well give them all away. Help the poor, won't chu?"

Reaper sorts through the goods, frowning beneath his masknand tugging on the brim of his hood in annoyance.Blast it....he couldn't find anything he wanted....Then, he notices the commottion, sighing and putting down the goods as he turns around and walks over to the crowd just in time to hear Kyos last sentence. Hearing it, Yami walks up to the stall, plunking down some money and buying a couple of dqango!, holding one out to the intimating man."......." He looks at him, examining Kyo with golden eyes.

Right before he made the seller capitulate, a masked man reached out and exchanged money for dango. One of which was offered to him. Ah? Kyo thought, caught off guard. He casted a suspicious look on the heavily-clothed man. He didn't know what game this stranger was playing, but it might be fun to play along. With a swipe of his hand, he snatched the dango right out of his hand and took a bite.

"A guy who buys things for others is just my kind of guy. And what is your name, Mr. Samaritan?"

Reaper takes a bite out of his dango, looking at the guy, lowering the hand and hooking it on his belt.".....generosity is that which greases the wheels, isn't it, Elder?"He looks aaround at the staring people."Shame that people are so easily scared..." He snorts." And as for my name, I don't have it anymore. You can call me Reaper, that's what others do...Now....there's no reason, though, too scare innocents, is there?"

His voice was hoarse and hard on Kyo's ears, making it difficult to listen to him speak. Perhaps he liked it better when he remained mute. "Oi... oi... people may run away just hearing you don't cha know..." he murmured. "Aaahhh but you got a point there. I look too much like a punk, don't I? But if men still had their balls in between their legs..." Kyo grabbed his sword and brought it down to the ground, the tip cracking the earth. Clusters of people quickly hurried away, even the dango seller was taking cover. "Then it won't be so much of a problem, EH?!"

Reaper smiles slightly behind his mask. "Yes....My voice is quite difficult to listen to, isn't it? But, like you, I haven't much choice in how I look. And you're right. Those who reside in a ninja village shouldn't be so scared. Perhaps, though, we should use our...uniqueness to punish those who deserve it wisely." His eyes narrow slightly."Fear isn't as useful in large doses."

Kyo pulled his sword from its place in the earth. He yawned in a rather dramatic manner, exaggerating the tenor range and lengthening the duration. "Sorry pal, but I really don't feel like using my blade for good 'less I'm getting paid for it". Feeling bored, he turned around and walked in the opposite direction, waving farewell to the Reaper. "Well, it's been nice chattin' with ya. See ya later", he said.

Reaper watches the man walk away.".....?" Was that a Leaf Ninja? But, he said he fought only for money....Well, the young warrior wasn't about to look down on him, he used to do the same, after all.Wait....why not?" Sir, as swordsman to swordsman, may I request your name?"

Kyo stopped his tracks and then turned 90 degrees towards his left, head turned towards Reaper. Hi mouth curved into a cocky grin and his red demonic eyes flaring like never before. "Kyo", he uttered. "Onime no Kyo" (Demon Eyes Kyo).

Reaper nods,bowing."....An honor. " he adjusts his sword, straightening up, his golden eyes gleaming."Hopefully one day I'll be strong enough to spar you, Kyo, sir.Until then."He turns around, beginning to walk away.Hmmm....this village had plenty of strong people...yah, here hell become strong...
