Skills: Tatsuta is a combat medical-nin. As a jounin, she possesses above average physical ability and formidable taijutsu skills that allow her to hold her own against most jounin-level combat specialists. In close quarters, her weapon of choice is a pair of tanto. In terms of fighting style, she is primarily a mid-range combatant and favors the use of mid to high level wood release ninjutsu to fortify strategic positions while attacking from a distance. High precision chakra control as a medical-nin means she is also a skilled practitioner of genjutsu, using it in conjunction with hallucinogenic plants. She is partial to tactics and strategy over brute force and works best with the support of a team.

Tatsuta boasts extensive knowledge of plants and medical ninjutsu. She is currently one of Konoha's top medical-nin and is renowned among her peers for her surgical skill. By studying her own condition, she has become a leading authority in the research of implanting cells, organs, and chakra to enable ninjas to use rare jutsu and bloodline limits. Her achievements include drastically reducing the risks of rejection to an almost 100% survival rate. It is arguably her most sought after talent.

Weaknesses: As a well-rounded ninja, Tatsuta does not possess any obvious weaknesses and normally has a strategic response to most situations. In terms of fighting style, she finds it difficult to battle opponents who are true long range specialists as there is little she can do to retaliate if they outrange her. In terms of ninjutsu, high-level lightning release users have her at a disadvantage in element natures. Direct confrontation with fighters specializing in raw power also put her at a disadvantage as her own destructive output is not very high. While her chakra levels are by no means low, extended combat with ninjas who possess extraordinarily immense chakra reserves will eventually tire her out, forcing her to resort to ending the battle as quickly as possible.

*Tanto (pair) - The blades of her tanto are made from a special metal that she can easily apply chakra flow on. When infused with her wood release chakra, they gain the effect of causing a tree to sprout on and entangle whatever is stabbed by the blade.
*Storage scrolls - Tatsuta carries storage scrolls containing seeds of an assortment of plants with various uses including: medicine, antidotes, poisons, hallucinogens and the like. Unlike the First who could grow a wide variety plants and trees from nothing but chakra, she is limited in what she can create on her own. She compensates by using the actual seeds of the plants she needs as a base and then rapidly growing them with her jutsu.




Personality: Diligent and dedicated, Tatsuta can be described as a model ninja who is rarely, if ever, out of line. She is kind but strict. Her high standards make her hard to please but she is patient and willing to continue working with others until they can produce results she deems satisfactory. She acknowledges those who have the right attitude even if they do not possess the talent or skill at first. She believes it is the leader's job to properly assess and make use of his team's abilities and their failure is his failure to properly gauge their capabilities.

As she is most known for her brilliant mind, few are aware that she is capable of delivering quite the beat down when the situation calls for it. She accepts that sometimes the fastest way to get through to someone is by force. She places just as much value in training as amassing knowledge and believes that no ninja should neglect either, prodigy or not.

As a medical-nin she tends to prioritize saving lives and is not fond of the notion of sacrificing individuals for the success of the mission.

Strengths: Tatsuta is strong-willed and a quick thinker. Being able to remain calm and composed under pressure is her forte. The serious expression she sometimes has is not due to her being tense or anxious but rather a mark of her ability to maintain focus in any circumstance and not lose sight of her goals.

Interests/Habits: Between work and off days, Tatsuta spends much of her time divided between training and studies. She has a private greenhouse that she tends to for both research and recreation purposes. When not training alone, she is in the company of the few people who are aware that she makes for a challenging sparring partner. She has expressed interest in supervising her own genin team and is waiting in anticipation for an assignment. She occasionally goes out to drink when invited and can really hold her alcohol.

History: Tatsuta is a survivor of the countless experiments made in the attempt to reproduce the abilities of the First Hokage. Such experiments continued in secret long after the war and she was the lone child rescued from the latest lab uncovered by Konoha intelligence. The Hokage at that time allowed her to be taken in by the jounin who rescued her and the medical-nin who gave her a check-up afterward as they had developed an attachment to young girl. Barely three years old back then, her hair and eyes were a peculiar green color as a side-effect of the experiments.

Being a subject that was selected to undergo the experiments, Tatsuta had a strong body and high chakra potential. With the modifications made to her and the fact that she was a successful product, it was no surprise that she possessed outstanding aptitude as a ninja and was one of the most talented in her generation. She was a curious child who dabbled in many fields. It proved to be a blessing that her adopted guardians were remarkable ninja in their own right who imparted upon her much of their knowledge and skills. She was grateful to be under their care but decided to live by herself as soon as she was able to as a gesture of consideration as they were busy with their own important duties.

As one of the rare few ninja to have successfully been implanted with the Shodaime Hokage's cells there were no ready teachers who could train her directly to use wood release and so she needed to put a little more effort than others in the research aspect to study and master her jutsu. Her jounin teacher when she was a genin was very supportive of her desire to learn more and so helped provide her access to the few records that were available on wood release jutsu. Most records were descriptive accounts from the wars and the era of the First and she had to figure out the rest on her own, leading to the development of original techniques and rediscovery of old ones. When not out on missions, she would spend days in the archives studying and then practicing in the training grounds. She inevitably gained a reputation as a workaholic among her peers but at the same time she earned their respect as a hard worker who did not let her exceptional abilities get to her head. She was among the fastest of her generation to be promoted to chuunin and eventually jounin.

Her aptitude for medical ninjutsu was discovered earlier on when she demonstrated impressive chakra control while using her jutsu. The high degree of control was a necessity in performing wood release techniques well and so the field of medical ninjutsu that opened up to her felt like a natural progression. By then, she already had an acute interest for plants and was well-versed on their various uses including their medical applications. It also helped that she was curious about the experiments done to her when she was young and this was a good opportunity to learn more about them herself. She thought that, in the process, she could perhaps help others in similar conditions. She never imagined that she would instead contribute to the advancement of the techniques used in such procedures, but in a good way that allowed people to survive and become assets to the village.

At present Tatsuta is a well-respected jounin in Konoha despite her young age, having been promoted way before even reaching her twenties. She is famous for her accomplishments in medical ninjutsu in the field of surgical applications and holds a position of esteem in the medical-nin branch of the village ninja hierarchy.

I don't really feel comfortable about this. A special metal that allows her to use Wood Style more easily? With her Wood Style jutsu and the skill at which she uses it that you've described, it seems like this is really unnecessary.

Again, no changes here, but Orochimaru had an endless network of underground labs. They're still uncovering some today. So naturally I was kind of confused when she's 21 at this point, when at that point she was 3.

No. She's not the first, but she is practically the second. Danzo had Wood Style, but he definitely didn't leave any information about it to pass on. The only other person is Yamato, and as a former member of Seed, he isn't passing on any information in scrolls either. Just have her be self-taught.

It would most likely come into play only in situations when she would have to save someone or if the special surgical procedure is an order and is officially authorized by the Hokage himself. Tatsuta's Jutsu

Water Release
Water Release: Water Bullet Technique - Expels a large quantity of water from the user's mouth in the form of a powerful torrent towards their intended target.
Water Release: Water Formation Wall - Creates a wall of water around the user. The water is blown out from the mouth in the form of a circle around the user making a defense without openings. The amount of water and duration can be controlled at will.

Earth Release
Earth Release: Moving Earth Core - Lowers or raises the ground in the surrounding area, allowing the creation of  giant holes or elevations.
Earth Release: Tunneling Technique - Allows the user to create tunnels in the ground. The large tunnel that is created allows the user to transport others without detection.
Earth Release: Earth Flow Divide - Allows the user to tear the earth apart, creating large chasms. The length, width, direction, and curve of the chasm are shaped and fashioned by the user.
Earth Release: Mudslide - Releases a wave of dirt from the earth in the direction of the user's choosing. The strength and speed of the mud flow can be enhanced with water release jutsu.

Wood Release
Wood Release: Wood Clone Technique - Creates a wood clone. Clones are capable of hiding/merging with trees and can send information telepathically to the user.
Wood Release: Great Forest Technique - Changes the user's arm into trees. The trees then rapidly grow and lengthen at high speed and can be used to capture or impale targets.
Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall - Causes pillars of wood to rise from the ground and form a dome. This can be used to trap a target or form a protective shelter.
Wood Release: Nativity of a Sea of Trees - Turns an area into a vast forest with trees and grass growing out of any terrain the user is on. Tatsuta possesses an alternate version of this technique that creates a forest made entirely of cherry blossom trees.
Wood Release: Labyrinth of Trees* - Only usable in a forested location, Tatsuta takes control of the area, creating a maze of trees interlocking to form walls and passages. She can shift the walls and passages at will and can sense the presence and exact position of anyone traversing through the maze. The drawback is that she cannot move from her current location as she needs to focus on maintaining the jutsu and constantly supply it with her chakra. If she created wood clones beforehand, the clones can continue to move around and do tasks for her while she keeps this jutsu active.
Wood Release: World of Flowering Trees Redux* - Tatsuta's attempt at recreating the jutsu described to have been used by the First Hokage himself. She creates flowering trees/plants that spread their pollen all over the area for a variety of effects. The variations are dependent on the seeds she uses as a base and include: hallucinogens, sleep inducers, paralysis inducers, poisons and even fatigue relievers. The drawback is that she is unable to manipulate the pollen directly, thus presenting a risk for allies in the vicinity.
Wood Release: Quick Construction* - A refinement of the various wood construct techniques, Tatsuta compiled them into a single all-purpose construction jutsu that allows her to create any wooden structure according to her imagination. The drawback is that the resulting construct is not reinforced with chakra and possesses the durability of ordinary wood.

Genjutsu
Phantasmal Forest* - A genjutsu that targets the individual's fear and anxiety, giving them the impression of being forever trapped in a dark forest. They lose the ability to think clearly and their sense of direction is severely thrown off. In some cases they begin to hallucinate representations of their fears lurking just beyond the trees, increasing their vulnerability. It is most effective when used in an actual forest and with the aid of hallucinogenic pollen.
Cherry Blossom Flourish* - A genjutsu that hinders an individual's senses with a heavy downpour of cherry blossom petals. Their sense of sight and sound is obscured by the numerous falling petals while an overpowering fragrance obscures their sense of smell. It is mostly used in conjunction with Tatsuta's Wood Release: Nativity of a Sea of Trees, cherry blossom trees version.
